If that is what you have decided to do (and beware - some here will tell you you are a fool for doing that) - I would only buy MS 69 or 70 (if you want numismatic value) not MS 68....and graded by PCGS first, NGC second.....

Fool!!!!!!!!!!! :sarc: Plenty of other coins out there that are actually worth their Numi value... 1996 SAE's not so much IMHO

I can understand that. That coin has a mintage of around 3, 600,000 if I remember correctly. That is a low mintage when comparing to other SAE's but still really high when looking at other world coins. Often times, if you get them in a PCGS holder, they are tarnished etc... However, if you are looking to pass them on, try and get them slabbed and in a high grade like MS69 or MS70.

I sent you a couple PM's

i would recommend you buy some '97 silver maple leafs.
Hard to find but it is a major silver coin that has been a sleeper, and is still relatively a sleeper.
And you should be able to still get them at under $40 (though I am seeing $50+sometimes). You should be able to get them in mint plastic in mint condition.
You might have to hunt a while to find just one now. I could not pass up an opportunity to buy 40 of them in sheets 3 months ago. I know I would have kicked myself for not buying so I snagged 'em.....I really think they are sleepers and will increase in numie value, barring utter collapse of numismatic values attached to coins.
Hard to find lower than 101,900 mintage on a major silver coin. At under $40 a coin, you will not lose when silver rises, even if it's numismatic value falls flat on my prediction.
